Save the date! The region’s renowned agricultural event, The Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show, is back this summer and promises to be even more action-packed than ever before.
Announcing a new star attraction, the show welcomes the world famous motorcycle spectacular – The IMPs Motorcycle Display Team sponsored by Fuel10K. With the youngest performer only five years old, these daredevil stunt riders put on a dynamic display of motorcycle skills including a death-defying fire jump you won’t want to miss!
From two wheels to four legs, agriculture is at the heart of The Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show and for the first time in over 15 years, the much love Grand Parade of Livestock sponsored by Woolley & Wallis will be featured in the Gritchie Brewing Company Main Ring. The champion cattle and sheep of the 2022 Show will parade in the expanse of the Ring.
James Cox, event organiser said: “This spectacular parade sums up what this countryside show is all about. Our aim this year has been to put livestock and agriculture truly at the heart of the Show. This is an event where business gets done in the Agricultural Sector, which will now have agricultural and rural businesses on all four sides of the ring.
Horse fans will love the equestrian exhibits this year. Due to popular demand, the show welcomes back the Heavy Horse Village, even bigger than last year. Sponsored by Wincanton Racecourse, there will be heavy horse competitions in the morning and demonstrations by these gentle giants of the equestrian world in the afternoon. Faster on their feet, polo ponies will be put through their paces as Dorset Polo puts on exciting match displays throughout the day.
James Cox added: “This is just the start! We have more new acts and exhibitors to confirm in the next month. The phone just doesn’t stop ringing! Visitors are in for an even greater day out this year!”
