Sheep Shearing Competitions take place on both Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th August at Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show, Turnpike Showground, SP7 9Pz.
To be run under the rules of the British Isles Shearing Competition (BISCA). Pre-Show entries close at noon on Tuesday 15th August. Each competitor will receive one complimentary Show Ticket.
Competitors are to report to the Shearing Marquee half an hour before competition start time (see each individual class).
Wednesday classes:
- JUNIOR SHEARING COMPETITION. Entry Fee: £5
Start time: 10am Prize money: 1st £50, 2nd £30, 3rd £20, 4th £10 - BLADE SHEARING COMPETITION. Entry Fee: £5
Start time: 12pm Prize money: 1s £50, 2nd £30, 3rd £20, 4th £10 - VETERANS SHEARING COMPETITION (over 50’s). Entry Fee: £5
Start time: 2.30pm Prize money: 1st £50, 2nd £30, 3rd £20, 4th £10
Thursday classes:
- INTERMEDIATE SHEARING COMPETITION. Entry Fee: £7
Start time: 10am Prize money: 1st £90, 2nd £70, 3rd £50, 4th £30 - SENIOR SHEARING COMPETITION. Entry Fee: £8
Start time: 12pm Prize money: 1st £120, 2nd £100, 3rd £75, 4th £50 - OPEN SHEARING COMPETITION. Entry Fee: £10
Start time: 2pm Prize money: 1st £200, 2nd £150, 3rd £100, 44 £60 - FANCY DRESS SHEARING COMPETITION. Entry Fee: FREE
